I've carried a Silky Gomboy in my pack for quite a while and its a good little saw. Been doing more winter backpack camping and it was wearing me out processing firewood. Been eyeing one of these for a while and glad I pulled the trigger! Processed a bunch of dry wood fast with Sydney blade and could have done a bunch more. I don't know if it cuts faster, but if you factor in breaks to rest, I processed a lot more tonight than I would have with the Silky! Coulda kept going, too! Case with pocket for extra blade and clips is great. A+

Saw this product on a tv survival show and an online product review video, as a result decided it was a must have. A bit tricky to put together the first few times with that lethal blade but everything comes together as a sturdy and substantial saw. It cuts very well and closes down into a nice compact item that fits easily in its little carry sheath which is also good quality. Won’t know how well it holds up until it gets used for a period of time but for now we’re both satisfied completely. Nice item. Showed the neighbor and he was impressed too

I would not go out into the wild without one. I always process my own firewood and I have used the 21 with Sidney blades for the past 2 yrs. I live for being outdoors, hot tent you bet. No complaints.

Neat design, hopefully reliable implementation, great sawing efficacy, comfortable handle, no complains. All-purpose blade is a little bit too aggressive to my opinion - cutting thin twigs sometimes difficult to start. I bought Boreal21 for backpacking and at first I was not sure do I need 15" or 21". Now I'm convinced that 21" was the right choice. It fits into my backpack, and when I recently cut a 5" log, it was obvious that I could hardly do it with a 15" blade.

For around a decade I’ve used a Silky Bigboy 2000. I have processed more wood with that saw than I can count. It has been my go to saw and the original blade is still going strong. The one thing that the Silky does not work so well with is dried/ cured hardwoods and that’s what lead me to the Agawa. Today my Agawa proved that with the Sydney Ranch blade it can almost out preform the Silky with green wood, but it straight up put it to shame with hardwood. I processed some standing dead and dried Hedge wood. This wood would have made a great fence post if it was longer. Using the Agawa with the Sydney Ranch blade made short work of it. I won’t say it beats out my beloved Silky because both have their places, but I doubt I will need any other saw for my needs. Also, the other advantage the Agawa has over the Silky is the cost of the replacement blades; they are much cheaper than the Silky.

The Agawa saws are perfect for processing wood while wilderness camping. We originally purchased the 15" and it has been a perfect companion for backpacking trips. After our first season of winter camping we knew we'd need something a bit larger and the 21" is perfect. We will be taking it on several canoe trips this year and look forward to being able to process larger standing dead come winter. Storage is easy when the saw is folded and the blade pattern makes it easy to use, even if you're not a tough and rugged outdoorsman.

First off, the saw is amazing! I went with the 15" since I'm using it for backpacking. It fit perfectly in my Aether 65L pack. It's so lightweight, but sturdy when sawing. I was a little concerned at first about the length (not being able to get a good stroke in for cutting), but that concern was put to rest quickly. The blade is so sharp, it just tore through the fallen tree I was cutting up.like butter. Also, the height of the frame allowed me to cut through without having to flip the log. Just a phenomenal piece of hardware for the trail. Secondly, I must say they customer service is incredible. I had many questions, but Miss Emily answered every single one. Customer service is always a big deal to me, and shows what kind of company you're dealing with when you need help. These guys were Johhny on the spot with assistance. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone who is looking for serious equipment.

Spend a lot of time in the bush tree felling and bucking as well as camping. When camping or when working and small limbs aren't worth firing up the big saw the boreal 21 gets unfolded. Light, strong and simply elegant design. Who said you can't build a better mousetrap. Simply puts other folding bowsaws to shame!
